Toyota Australia Recalls Yaris Cross GR Sport Vehicles Due To Type Certification

Toyota Australia has today announced that it will initiate a recall involving Yaris Cross GR Sport hybrid variants produced between October 2022 and April 2023 (inclusive). There are approximately 245 vehicles involved in the Australian market.

Toyota Australia has identified the involved vehicles were equipped with tyres that did not correctly align with the Australian Design Rules (ADR) certification requirements for this model. As a result of this tyre fitment, some performance characteristics may vary slightly from the certification data.

For all involved vehicles, Toyota dealers will correct this issue and ensure vehicle compliance with regulation requirements, by replacing tyres on affected vehicles free of charge to vehicle owners.

Tyre replacement will take approximately 2 hours; however, depending on the Dealer's work schedule, owners may be required to make the vehicle available for a longer period of time.

Toyota Australia will provide all owners of involved vehicles details of this recall campaign by SMS, email and/or mail to their last known address. Customers are asked to keep their contact details up to date with Toyota Australia so future communications can be received.

Customers with additional questions or concerns are asked to please contact their local/preferred Toyota Dealer in the first instance or the Toyota Recall Campaign Helpline on 1800 987 366 (Mon-Fri 8.00am-6.00pm AEDT). Customers should quote their 17-digit Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
